Biography

Dr. Güneş has contributed significantly to psychiatric research in children and adolescents. His work includes:

  • Sleep-related studies:

    • Investigated sleep problems in children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), exploring clinical correlations and the impact of ADHD on sleep disturbances.

    • Examined parent-reported sleep problems in young individuals with sickle cell disease, analyzing their relationship with health-related quality of life.

  • Case reports and clinical analyses:

    • Diagnostic challenges between absence epilepsy and ADHD.

    • An adolescent case of sleep-related eating disorder associated with risperidone use.

    • Manic symptoms induced by the use of modified-release methylphenidate in an adolescent.

    • Other clinical observations such as cases involving narcolepsy and mood-related drug effects.

  • Epidemiology:

    • Contributed to a nationwide, multicenter study in Turkey, titled EPICPAT-T, which assessed the prevalence of childhood psychopathology, including ADHD and anxiety disorders.
